Concerning the Music of 2026

It’s that halfway point in the year, when jonseing list-makers can no longer help themselves and Best of the Year So Far offerings start sprouting up to remind us of the clock’s ceaseless ticking. All of which reminds me that I should post a link to my annual unwieldy playlist of new and notable songs.

You know, the good stuff, released in the year 2026, or thereabouts. Arranged very specifically, in no particular order. Expect guitars, jazz, space jambs, fizz bops, bleep outs, dreamers, droners, whirlyjigs, and rock-scissor-hammer times. Updated frequently if not constantly until 31-12.

Modern Nature are once again up front, setting the mood. Bingo Records, Breakfast Records — both beloved and representing. Mopar stars making waves, along with the return of Unwed Sailor. A lot to enjoy, so let’s….
